Now I don't speak a lot of Spanish, but roughly translated it means something like the 5th of May.
Many believe this is the Mexican Independance Day, but in all actuality it is a celebration of when Spanish soldiers defeated the French Army in 1862.
Once again my "cleavage makeup" (see previous post) friend amazed me. Here was a little bit of the conversation we had:
"Hey, how are ya?" I said
"Good, you?" she replied
"Ok, thanks."
"You know what's weird?"
"What?"
"For like the last 15 years or something my son's birthday has fallen on Cinco de Mayo..."
"And...?"
"Well, I just think it is weird. I have a friend and sometimes her birthday is on Thanksgiving and sometimes it is not."
"Hmmm, go figure."
Sometimes just a smile and a reassuring nod can go a long way.
That's me, I'm him...

- DISCLAIMER: Although I am a car guy this is not solely a car blog. I will talk cars, but this is also a blog about how I view the world. Just ask my mom and she will tell you my first word was "car". I do have a slight fascination with them. Luckily I have a supportive family and a very understanding wife...
