That's me, I'm him...

DISCLAIMER: Although I am a car guy this is not solely a car blog. I will talk cars, but this is also a blog about how I view the world. Just ask my mom and she will tell you my first word was "car". I do have a slight fascination with them. Luckily I have a supportive family and a very understanding wife...

Why don't we do it anymore...

Last night I got a call from a buddy of mine. He had broke down alongside the road, after dark, and in the cold. I grabbed a few simple hand tools and headed out to help him. As I sat waiting to flip a U turn where he was broke down I watched vehicle after vehicle pass him by with out even a acknowledgment - one car was even a state trooper. After I got over to where he was broken down I commented on how many people passed him by including the trooper. He said he had noticed and that was actually the third officer that had came by.

Now I am not the best at stopping when I see someone broke down, but why has a society pretty much just decided this is not anything we need to do?

Unfortunately it's gotten to the point where people have been assaulted trying to help other people. I'm with you...I'm all for helping people on the side of the road. If Matt is with me I make him stop to help especially if I see children.

Well, I personally wouldn't be able to lend much of a hand to the stranded on the side of the road. I always wave and mouth "I'm sorry".
